Loose fishtail braided updo~ my look for today

Hi everybody,

Today I'm wearing a favorite dress, so I fixed my hair in a favorite style to match :-)  I made a small French braid fishtail across the top, then a larger regular fishtail braid with the rest of my hair.  I wrapped this lower fishtail braid into a bun, and then wrapped my smaller fishtail braid around my bun.  Here is how this hairstyle turned out~ thank you for coming by to see!

Waist-length ponytail for ankle-length hair

Hi friends,

For some reason I've been thinking about ponytails, and today I decided to wear my hair in one :-)  But since my hair is really too long to wear full-length in this hairstyle, I wound it up in a top knot first, then made a waist-length ponytail that was just right for a hot day like today.  Thank you for coming to see my new pictures!  I seem to be posting quite regularly lately.

Clear Blue Sky hairstyle

Hi everyone,

The sky was such a beautiful clear blue today, I tried to take hair pictures using it as the background.  A little different angle than usual was needed to get the sky in the same picture :-)
In case you are wondering, I made one finger-crochet braid in the middle and secured it with bobby pins.  It looks rather like a mohawk braid.  I took a strand of hair from one side and wrapped it up and over the top bobby pin that was holding my crochet braid.  Then I did the same thing with a single strand of hair from the opposite side.  The effect looks like my hair is folded and tucked in place.

(And such an amazing sight to see yesterday)

Chain Braids

Hi everyone,

Today I made a braided style that I haven't done for a while, the one I like to call a chain braid.  Some people on the internet have called this a snake braid or a slide-up braid, but this braid always reminds me of links in a chain.
Since my dress had something similar to chains in the pattern of the material, I thought this hairstyle would match :-)  This is such an easy way to fix your hair, you just make an English braid in the center, hold one strand and slide the other two strands up to the top.  Then slowly slide them back down again to create this chain effect.  I added another chain braid on either side, and put my hair into a low ponytail which I then turned into a big bun.

Tie-dye swirls braid

Happy Friday!

I wasn't planning on taking hair pictures today, but I noticed when I finished braiding my hair that the swirls in my braid matched the tie-dye swirls on my shirt :-)  I kept my braid long for the pictures, but then I wrapped my hair up into a side bun.  It's still too hot to wear down for long!
